well its been a while... even once we got internet up and going.. I had other personal things/issues 'going' on...
some I am still trying to come to grips with and make sense of.  Things perhaps I will share in time but I am still trying to digest them myself.

But lets start with some good shall we....

When we first got to SC our first 3 Sundays were spent church hunting... trying to find something we could all agree on.  Well finally on our 4th Sunday we tried Crossroads Community Church and found a place we all seemed to agree upon... On our 2nd or 3rd Sunday there, unbeknown to us, they had a Baptism service during the time we attend worship at 10:45.  I wish I had known about it as its something that has been on my mind to do again in my life... but I was unaware of it and figured well maybe it wasn't 'my time' to do this..So as time goes on we continue to like and attend Crossroads... at some point in late November, maybe it was early December they announce in the church bulletin they will be having another baptism service, and get this,

ON CHRISTMAS EVE!

you can bet your sweet bottom I signed up on the first announcement... of course then I'm wondering.. hhmm maybe they won't do this unless you are an official member of that church.. so I emailed the church and low and behold it was NOT a requirement to be baptized that you be a member!  Rock on sign me up, or, well, in this case keep me on the list...of course I've also signed on for new members classes that begin in January too so....as well as a ladies Bible Study...

of course doing this on Christmas Eve meant we did not go to Florida for Christmas but honestly, while it would have been nice to see peeps, it would have only served to remind me how much I miss my brother Don and his family in Indiana as that is generally where I spend Christmas day.

I didn't think much of it until Thursday when I began to realize, for some reason, how utterly nervous I was about this.. and OMgosh when we had to be at the church an hour before services for directions and to talk with Pastor Peppy, I was, well, so nervous I was afraid if I ate anything I'd see it again.

Now Matt has NO idea how I get when I have a big event looming in front of me... but others, friends, in my life are VERY aware of it and thankfully were able to put me and the whole thing in perspective for me.  But still I continued to be nervous and I guess one of the ladies who had two young girls being baptized must have realized this about me too... as we were lined up to go up on stage, in front of an over packed church, she just started talking to me... I must have been some pale shades of white and I was shaking inside... I just hate getting in front of crowds... but, then, it came my turn.. gosh it all happened so quickly it almost was like a dream... but I did it, I was baptized on 12/24/09...

I mean what a more fitting day/time of year, baptism itself is symbolic and then to do it on Christmas Eve... the eve of our Lord and Saviors birth, was just perfect!  I have a short video clip lets see if I can figure out how to post it here...
